2025/2026 Programs
Parks MWAR Program
This is for ski racers of all abilities, ranging in age from 5 to 19. We provide professional USSA certified coaches for this program and have training sessions 3 times a week (most athletes make at least 2 of these) from early December to early March. This program is all about the love of skiing, having fun and healthy competition. The coaching ratio is about 8 kids to 1 coach and split by age and ability. Your child will be entered into the Midwest Alpine Racing (MWAR) series which consists of 6 races at local hills. Many of the High School aged athletes in the MWAR Program also compete on their High School JV and Varsity Ski teams.
Parks US Ski & Snowboard Program
This is for ski racers that are looking for additional competition and more difficult venues at a Regional, Divisional and National level. USSS race courses are typically twice as long as MWAR races and most USSS races will be held over a 2 day period providing more competition opportunities for athletes. For the 2025 USSA Season Parks Coaches will be supporting 3 USSS Races. Support for additional USSS races/championships will be arranged on an as needed basis. The USSS Program includes everything in the MWAR program plus athletes will be competing at USSS Central Region 2 events located in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Competing well in these events can lead to Divisional and National events. Many of the athletes in this program are striving to qualify for the USSS Junior Championships. Athletes must register and pay for their USSA Membership and register for individual races through the Region2 and US Ski & Snowboard sites.
Parks Camps
We generally have 3 to 6 camps a ski season. This is in addition to our normally scheduled weekly practices. For the 2025-2026 season there will be multi-day camps, weekend camps, and single day camps. Camps are a great way to get a lot of time on snow and improve your skiing. We will have a week long Winter Park Thanksgiving Camp and are looking to schedule two weekend camps in December.
Our Mission
To provide a professional environment where ski racers can strive towards their full potential, develop their skills to perform at a higher level, and to help these athletes develop a love and respect for the sport.
Come be a part of the fun, learning and competition that is the heart of the Parks Junior Ski Racing Team. Since 1963, Parks has provided boys and girls of all ages the opportunity to compete in a fun, safe and organized environment.
