Our coaches bring a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to our club. In addition, they are
constantly striving to increase their technical and tactical knowledge towards ski racing through education
from both the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and Professional Ski Instructors of
America (PSIA). They ensure athletes’ long-term improvement through providing young racers with a solid
understanding of the fundamentals to racing technique and tactics. Skiers of all levels can subsequently
improve their involvement with the Parks Junior Ski Racing Team.

Brad Butzke - Co-Director & Co-Head Coach; USSA & WJR Class 1-4. Currently a
USSA Alpine Official with Level 200 coaching certification and is working towards
his Level 300 accreditation. Former Parks racer with WJR and CUSSA experience,
as well as USSA Masters and MMSC Senior league (held #1 bib several years).
Has coached 14 years, previously for the University School of Milwaukee HS (head
coach), Slinger HS (both head and assistant coach), and Heiliger Huegel USSA
race team (J3-J4 assistant coach).
USSA Alpine Official with Level 200 coaching certification and is working towards
his Level 300 accreditation. Former Parks racer with WJR and CUSSA experience,
as well as USSA Masters and MMSC Senior league (held #1 bib several years).

Scott Stern - FIS Head Coach; FIS, USSA, and WJR Class 1-4. Currently a USSA

300 accreditation. Former Parks racer with WJR, CUSSA, FIS, and Collegiate, as
well as USSA Masters and MMSC Senior league. Has coached 25 years, previously
for the University School of Milwaukee HS (head coach), West Bend HS (both head
and assistant coach), Parks Ski Team (Head USSA Coach), Ausblick Race Team
(J3-J4 coach).
Alpine Official with Level 200 coaching certification and is working towards his Level
300 accreditation. Former Parks racer with WJR, CUSSA, FIS, and Collegiate, as
well as USSA Masters and MMSC Senior league. Has coached 25 years, previously

Robert Freidl - WJR Class 1-4. Currently has Level 100 USSA coaching certification
and is working towards his Level 200 accreditation. Has previous CUSSA,
collegiate, USSA Masters, CASC, and MMSC Senior league race experience.

Steve Gayner - WJR Class 5-6. Currently has Level 200 coaching and Level 200
PSIA certifications, and is working towards his Level 200 PISA accreditation. Has 4
